Her foot was still in the door. But that didn’t stop him from trying to close it.
“Ouch!” she screamed, as she pushed the door back.
Henry was horrified. He stepped back as his date started to cry.
This had been the worst first date ever. Closing the door on her foot wasn’t even the worst part. He staggered back even further, still awestruck by what had happened.
His date looked up at him. “What is wrong with you? Are you an idiot or just a super klux?”
Henry’s lip quivered. He wasn’t a nervous kid. He didn’t have any overwhelming fears that would make him act this way. What has happening was just as much as mystery to her as it was to him.
“I”m sorry,” meekly escaped his mouth. And with that he knew he had put the final nail in the coffin. His date looked up at him in total disgust.
“Sorry? You’re sorry? Sorry isn’t going to fix my foot Henry. Sorry isn’t going to help me with my dance class tomorrow. Now I probably won’t get to go the district finals because of this.”
Henry sighed. This night had been once massive date fail.
